Repurposed Antique Vanity with CeCe Caldwell's Paints

Before

Badly damaged top

But with a little CeCe paint and added shelf it transforms into a "fresh" piece of furniture!

I used a technique that I learned in an advanced painting workshop with Anne Skoguard - using cheesecloth.

Distressing is so easy with CeCe Caldwell's paint.

A closeup of the "cheesecloth" application - looks old and chippy with so much texture!

I picked up this old dresser from a store that was liquidating everything because the owner had passed and the family was cleaning up the store and tearing down the old buildings. It was missing the bottom drawer but I thought I could paint it with some CeCe paint and get my husband to add a shelf in the bottom. So that is just what I did and I added a couple of baskets to the shelf. I think this cute piece would be perfect in a bath room, a bedroom, a family room, or a foyer. I painted this with CeCe Caldwell's all GREEN paints. I used Georgia Clay and Mississippi Mud and I finished it with Satin Finish. This will be in our new shop Fresh this Friday. If you want to learn more about CeCe Caldwell's paint we offer paint classes in our studio and you learn how to layer the paint, distress the paint, and how to use all of the finishes. We are located in Jasper Texas at 403 College Street. We are an Occasional Shop so we are not open everyday but you can "like" us on www.facebook/fresh2013 and our hours of operation are posted on our facebook page. There are several neat shops in Jasper so take a girls day and drop in for a visit. We always have a fresh pot of coffee brewing and we are always adding new things because we are always searching for vintage finds!  I hope you have a blessed week. More pictures to come on other projects!
